Stella Breen-Franklin
In February 2010, Stella Breen-Franklin opened One Petticoat Lane in the quaint shopping village of West Annapolis. Located on Annapolis Street next to Art Things and with plenty of parking behind the store, word spread quickly that there was something special about this new consignment shop and its owner.
Born and raised in England, Stella has long been interested in style and fashion and one look at her attire will attest to that. With a degree in Textile Design and a post-grad in Art education, she was involved in the architectural and interior design of many English country homes.
After 10 years in the US, Stella finally realized her long held ambition to create a high-end consignment shop for stylish, gently used ladies' attire and eclectic home furnishings in a friendly and fun atmosphere. And so One Petticoat Lane was born.
MISSION
We aim for the highest possible aesthetic both personally and at home, with the minimum impact on our environment. We believe that ‘Green is Best’. This means that Consignment is a win-win situation, for both the consignor and the consignee.
Consignment isn’t just great for you; it’s great for the environment. It reduces your carbon footprint and refreshes your wardrobe, all while saving you money.
Why Petticoat Lane & "One"?
In 1608 Petticoat Lane became the street in London where all the flea markets began, and still remains to this day as an established part of city life.
This is my first store and my domain name was a Christmas present from my son. What could be cooler than that? Hope you like it, it's sure to be fun!
